LED Lighting Assessment

LED Lighting AssessmentAs the leading turnkey provider for commercial, government, and industrial clients throughout Texas, Spark Lighting provides a free, comprehensive lighting assessment to all clients interested in energy efficient lighting solutions.

Studies show that the conversion rate to LED is growing quickly, but there are still over 70% of legacy lighting technology that needs to be upgraded to LED.  Furthermore, lighting represents an industry average of around 20% of the total electrical bill.

At Spark Lighting, we believe LED lighting assessments are a great tool for our clients.

Assessments allow you to understand the cost of your legacy lighting solution and the potential savings that await you by switching to LED.  You might not be aware of how economical LED lighting solutions truly are until you consider the return on investment.

Also, assessments highlight the additional benefits of LED lighting beyond financial savings, including rebate opportunities and environmental impact.

Step 1: Meeting

To begin the assessment, our team will meet with you to understand your current lighting solutions.  Whether you would simply like more information on an LED retrofit or if you are further along in the buying process, we are here for you.

Step 2:  Determine Cost of Current Lighting

During the assessment, we will gather information on the current cost of your lighting to quantify the impact of your existing lighting on your operating expenses.  This expense is critical to our assessment process.  It helps us determine a scope of the project and measure the potential ROI with an LED lighting solution.

Step 3: Inventory Existing Lighting

Next, we will tour your property to assess existing interior and exterior lighting.  During this inventory, we note the following:

  • Count the total number of fixtures
  • Different types of fixtures in use
  • Wattage of each fixture
  • Voltage at each fixture

We follow the IES Handbook for all foot candles requirements.  If an area of a building does not meet the minimum requirements, we will note it and offer a recommendation to improve it.  We also follow the IECC 2015 for energy efficiency codes.  These codes are the requirements for motion sensors, daylight harvesting, and energy usage.

Step 4: Assessment Report

After we have completed the physical lighting assessment, the onsite assessment is complete.  We will compile the information gathered during the assessment to provide a customized report to the client.  This report includes:

  • Current cost of lighting
  • Potential savings by switching to LED
  • Rebate opportunities
  • Lighting plan
